Today is World Card Making Day, so I thought it appropriate that I add a post.
I started off by cutting a background from the (now obsolete) Kaisercraft Mermaid Tales paper pack, and added it to a mauve card base. Next I cut out the lovely lattice die using another much lighter sheet from the same pack.
I don’t know about you, but I rarely use the die cut pieces at the back of the paper pads. But for some unknown reason, I decided to check it out this time, and found this lovely (matching) die cut.
I put a bit of foam tape underneath the centre to give it some dimension, and glued it down. Lastly I added some matching flowers using a glue gun, and three clear sequins.
And that was it.
I made two almost identical cards (except for the color schemes), and you can see the second card below. (I did change it slightly by adding a fourth flower. I also made my own greeting as there were no die cuts I liked – for this design – in the paper pack, which was called Heirloom.)
They are very simple and quick, but I believe, quite elegant cards.
I hope you get some time to sit down and enjoy some paper crafts on this very special day!
Thanks for looking, and as always, if you want to comment and the comment box isn’t showing, click the title of this post and it will magically appear!
Both are so beautiful and elegant. I love them both in those colors and with the pretty dies used.
They are very elegant cards Cheryl. Happy WCMD. I am having a little crafty time myself this afternoon and loving it :))
Linda Langes recently posted..Brad turns into Rudolph?
Thank you so much Verna and Linda. Unfortunately I didn’t get into my craft room at all today. 🙁 I promised hubby I would do stats for his rifle club’s prize meeting, not realising it was WCMD when I offered.
So I spent the day adding dreary stats into a computer.
But I’ll make up for it tomorrow. 🙂
