Wedding Card

I made this card for my nephew’s wedding in January. Not sure how I missed adding it here, but I did. (Sorry!)

This was my first ‘real’ wedding card.

It took longer than usual to make, but mostly because I wasn’t sure of the layout.

I started with a blank white card.  Instead of cutting an A4 card in half, this time I used an entire A4 sheet and folded it in half.

Along the bottom I added a border which I’d punch out using an EK border punch – any border punch will work – then I added some sheer white organza ribbon.  Over the top of the ribbon I added a strip of white pearls.

I cut out two hearts with white cardstock – one large and one small heart.  Both were embossed with the tiny hearts embossing folder. I’m not sure if this particular one is still available, but any hearts embossing folder, or other elegant embossing folder would work.

For the large heart, I added some dainty lace around the edge.  The one I used was Kaisercraft, but any small and elegant white lace will work.

To each heart, I added a beaded organza flower embelishment, which I bought in a pack of about six. (The silver swirls were already there when I bought the set.) For the larger heart, I also added some paper flowers underneath the organza flowers.  These were also white.

Last but not least, I cut out a scalloped oval Nestabilities die, stamped it with a greeting from Gina K Designs (True Love set), and added three white half pearls.

For the inside I used pearlized paper, and stamped wedding greetings that came in a set from Kaisercraft.  It’s a bit hard to see in the photo, but I also used a Fiskars Linked Hearts Punch
in each corner at the bottom.
