Watercolored Sympathy Card

I don’t know about you, but I’ve become very reliant on using dies in a lot of my cards. So when CAS-ual Fridays put out the challenge to make a card without dies, I had to join in!

I started with watercolour paper, and stamped the image. This beautiful image is from “Gabi’s Hibiscus Stamp Set” from 49andMarket. I watercoloured the image and dried with the heat gun, then using the same shimmery watercolours, went all around the watercolour paper with a pale pink.

Once dried, I took one of my stencils and stencilled all the way around the image using Spun Sugar Distress ink. Then with Victorian Velvet, I stamped a script stamp  from Heartfelt Creations. (Vintage Life Background stamp.)

I decided I didn’t want any of this image covered up, so I stamped the greeting (from Stamp-It) onto vellum, and folded over the back. I used tiny dots of Glossy Accents to glue it down to the card topper.

Last but not least, I added the topper to a base of Pistachio Pudding from SU.

That’s it, all done. Quite time consuming, but I think it was worth the effort.

Thanks for looking, and as always, if you want to comment and the comment box isn’t showing, click the title of this post and it will magically appear!
