Vintage Style Foiled Birthday Card

I made this card for a friend’s birthday. She loves vintage style cards – both making and receiving them, so I thought this would be perfect for her.

It was very simple but I thought rather effective.

I began with a pink cardbase, then found some lovely floral design paper that matched the base colour. I distressed the edges of the paper then adhered it to the base.

I added some cheesecloth to the front of the dsp, spreading it out haphazardly to the card front.

Using the same card as the base, I foiled a greeting, which is from Couture Creations. (Sorry, it didn’t photograph perfectly. The light often plays on the foiling.)

I added the greeting, then added a small flower on the top at each side. I then decided something was missing, and found some lovely silver ribbon in my stash and made it into a bow. I then added the same flower as I’d previously used.

And that was it. Done.

  2. Thanks so much, Verna! My recovery is going well, I’m home, and I’m about to embark on six weeks of outpatient rehab.
