Valentine’s Day Card with a Difference

Hey everyone! It’s Cheryl here with you today.

As you may know by now, I adore the Peaceful Peonies collection – I just can’t get enough of it.  With Valentine’s Day coming up, I thought I’d use this beautiful collection to make a Valentine’s Day card with a difference.

For this card I used the 12 x 12 paper collection, and the matching Ephemera. Apart from that, I used some twine from my stash.

I began by scoring my white card base, then added the Peaceful Peonies design paper, leaving a small border all the way around. Next I took some scraps from the same pack, and cut them so they were about 10cm x 4cm strips. If you don’t have any scraps, you’ll need to use your paper pack.

I added dimensional strips to the banner that would sit on the top, using double for the right-hand side as it would lay over the top of the bottom banner. Before adding them to the card base, I tied the twine around the top, tying a bow for added texture.

I then stuck them onto the topper.

Next I glued the flower ephemera flat onto the banner. If you prefer added dimension, you could add more foam tape here.

Last of all, using foam tape again, I added the “love you” ephemera to the bottom right-hand corner of the card.

This is certainly a different Valentine’s Day card from the norm, but I really love it. It has a very feminine feel to it, I think.
