The Little Things

I have loads of lace in my stash, and came across this pretty lace.  I wanted to make a card that I could send to the oncology ward, and decided to use the lace.

The pattern is from Gina K Designs Pretty Patterns stamp set. (The greeting is from Gina K Designs “One in a Million” stamp set.) I think the color is a Stampin’ Up! one. But don’t quote me on that – if I don’t write it down, I can’t always remember!

After stamping the pattern on the bottom half of the topper, I laid the lace across it, but didn’t like the result.  So I threaded some ribbon through it.  It doesn’t match perfectly, but it still looks great, I believe.

Last but not least, before adding the topper to the cardbase, I rounded the top corners of the topper. After gluing it down, I added some pearls to balance it.

This card was entered in the Inspired by Stamping Ribbon Challenge.

Thanks for looking, and as always, if you want to comment, and the comment box isn’t showing, click the title of this post and it will magically appear!

  1. Beautiful card Cheryl! I am so glad that you joined us this week! Love the pink with the crochet trim! So pretty! Hugs, Joanna

  2. I love this little card Cheryl. I have that the Pretty Patterns stamp set and never think to use it. Thanks for the inspiration my dear!

  3. Cheryl, that’s a very beautiful card! I love the lace; it reminds me of the old hand-tatted cotton lace my Mom had on some of her coffee table cloths. Brings back memories….

  4. Hey, that’s not “pretty” lace, it is gorgeous lace! Get that right! LOL I can’t believe how lovely this is, and all you did was stamp the sentiment, add that gorgeous lace, ribbon, and the border stamping below (which resembles sort of a layered lacy effect, does’t it?) Beautiful card. I LOVE the ribbon through the lace, Cheryl, it MAKES the card! Thanks for the inspiration. I confess, I have some lace in my stash that has never seen the light of day. Shameful, right? Maybe I ought to get it out, and use it? Ya think? LOL

  5. I was certainly an easy card, Anna. But the results are pretty good!

Definitely go through your stash and find something you haven’t used for a while. It’s amazing the inspiration you’ll get!
