Teenage Birthday

Gosh, I can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve posted! I spent a week at my daughter’s place, but have been home almost a week. I can’t believe how quickly time has flown since then. Onto this card:

Saturday was my grandaughter’s 13th Birthday.

I wanted to make something special for her, to mark this special milestone, and decided to make a ‘number’ card.

The numbers were cut on the Silhouette, and I had to resize the matted numbers. Because they were the exact same letters (which they needed to be), I had to ensure the flourish was saved and reinserted into the matted pieces or it would look strange.

The red strip along the bottom was embossed with a tiny heart EF. I didn’t have any cream coloured lace, so I used distress ink to change the colour.

The beautiful stamp is from Inspired by Stamping – from the A Lovely Birthday set. The red backing flower is from the Daisies set (also from IBS) – I stamped it, cut it out, spritzed with water, then pinched the middle of each petal and left to dry.

I then added a cream (flat) flower from my stash, and added an IBS flower on top.

I’m very happy with how this came out, and my grandaughter loved it. (Which is really all that matters.)

This card has been entered in the Inspired by Stamping Colour challenge.  The colour combination I’ve used is red, pink, and cream.

Thanks for looking, and as always, if you want to comment, and the comment box isn’t showing, click the title of this post and it will magically appear!
