Vintage Lady

NBUS VintageLady

I told you last time I’d been to the Paperific Craft Show.  Today I’m using some of my new supplies.

Not that you’d know it recently, because I’ve been making anything other than vintage, but one of my big passions is vintage style cards.

For this card I used three new supplies I bought at the show.

  1. Cosmic Shimmer watercolours (used in the background);
  2. The gorgeous vintage lady (as the centrepiece) which came on a 12×12 sheet from PION designs;
  3. The beautiful vintage style die is from Marianne.

It was a very simple card to make, and took less than twenty minutes. I cut out the lovely lady, then used a gold pen to go around the edges.

I water coloured the background sheet with the Cosmic Shimmer water colour paints, pulling a couple of the colours from the image. Then I cut the die from some lilac scrap I had. If I’d had some, I probably would have gone a shade or two lighter, but I think this colour complements the image.

Before putting it all together, I ran the gold pen around the edge of the water coloured background.

That’s it. All done. (BTW, the Cosmic Shimmer paints give a lovely iridescent shimmer that can’t be seen so well in the photo.)

I am entering this card in the NBUS (Never-Before-Used-Schtuff) challenge.

Thanks for looking, and as always, if you want to comment, and the comment box isn’t showing, click the title of this post and it will magically appear!
