It’s Photo Inspiration Week at Just Us Girls, and I adore the photo!!
For some reason this photo kept on yelling ‘feathers’ at me, so my card had to have feathers.
On Friday I went to a large craft show in Melbourne – Paperific – my first time going. One of the stands, Mixed Media Arts, owned by a friend, had hands-on demos of how to use a Gelli Plate. I’ve had my Gelli Plate for close to a year now, but rarely use it as I’m not really sure how.
So I had a play, and learned some things from the demonstrator.
Today I saw the JUGS challenge, and decided that background called for a Gelli Plate impression, so I played. And I played. And I pulled lots of different impressions from my Gelli Plate. I have plenty to make a ton of cards!
This is the impression I started this card with:
I then chose which section I was going to use and cut it. (I’ve got enough left for at least two more cards.) I distressed the sides and sponged some Peacock Feathers Distress Ink around the edges, then stamped out two feathers with gold ink, (using items that came free with a magazine) then cut them out.
I then added a greeting using a retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set. Lastly I added some diamontes to the background.
That’s it. Done. Finished.
