Hello! I needed to make an anniversary card, but wanted something totally different.
First of all, I pulled out my paperback from the Gentleman’s Emporium Collection. I know we look at that range as being only for masculine cards, but it doesn’t have to be, as you will see.
I started off with a pale blue cardbase, and cut my dsp to suit. (Do NOT glue it down at this point!) I used the leftover to make the tag. This is the piece I used from the 6×6 paper pack:
I cut it so I still had most of the pattern cascading downward, and I used this for the tag. Measure across from the right, and then cut if you want to achieve the same result I did.
Next I foiled the greeting (Happy Anniversary) sideways onto the base sheet, getting it as close to the edge as possible. I used Blue-Green foil for this. *This design could be used for any occassion with a change of greeting.
Once the foiling was done, I distressed around all the edges, being careful not to get too close and tear into the foiled greeting.
I carefully measured the space I had left for the tag, and allowed a little extra for the die cuts I was about to add. I cut two pieces, one for each side, using the same cardstock as the base. The die I used was the Petit Floral Edge Die – I love this die and use it a lot.
I had only the edges peaking out, which suited for what I wanted. (I didn’t have a lot of space left to play with.)
I glued the die cuts to the back of the tag, then added foam tape to give the card some depth.
Last of all I added a flower, which I sponged with some matching ink, and some pearls.
