I’ve owned a small number of Copics for about three years now, but had done so little with them, I was beginning to think I’d wasted my money. I took a couple of face-to-face classes, and they were good, but once I got home, I’d forgotten what I’d learned.
Earlier this year (January, I think) I stumbled across a site called Kit and Clowder. I’d seen the site before, but felt like it wasn’t for me as they were all paid classes, and well, you know. YouTube.
But this time they were offering a free class, so I decided to give it a go. I’m so glad I did. I found I was actually able to understand what I needed to do, and could play the videos over and over again if I wanted or needed to.
In February, I decided to give the Create and Learn classes a go, as they are low-priced. If you want to know more, go here.
I have just finished the May Create and Learn Markers class (there’s also classes for pencils), and wanted to share the results with you. I can tell you categorically that four months ago I could not imagine doing anything like this. My colouring has progressed at a rapid rate since I started taking the classes at Kit and Clowder. Alyce Keegan (the owner) is an amazing teacher.
Was it easy? No, it wasn’t. Did I learn much? Yes, heaps!! There is literally hours of work in there, but geez, I did that!!! I simply cannot believe that I now have the skill to create something like this.
I’ve also gotten back into freehand drawing thanks to Alyce’s videos. (I’ll keep that for another post.)
Without trying to sound like an advertisement (because this is just my own personal experience), if you’d like to give it a shot, Alyce has two free classes right now. Go to the main page and you’ll find the links there.
Thanks for looking, and as always, if you want to comment, and the comment box isn’t showing, click the title of this post and it will magically appear!
