This card was made for the Inspired by Stamping Colored Vellum Flowers Challenge. (Follow that link to view the tutorial.)
To be honest, I almost forgot this challenge finished today!
This was a very simple card to make. I embossed the card topper using a Spellbinders M-Bossabilities folder. Added white lace almost all the way across, then topped it with some scrap blue ribbon that was in my stash. (The piece wasn’t much bigger than what you can see here!)
I went through my scrap stash, and found the white circle (already cut) and stamped it with Birthday Wishes from the Pirates set (Inspired by Stamping) then cut part of the circle away.
The flower stamp is from The Year of Flowers (Gina K Designs) as I don’t have any flower stamps from Inspired by Stamping, but will have soon! The flowers were done with white embossing powder, then colored with Copics. I cut them out, added them to the card with dimensionals, and last but not least, added a pearl to each flower – also colored with Copics.
I actually added two colored pearls above the greeting, but didn’t like them. Apparently I didn’t leave them to dry long enough, because I ended up with blue Copics on my card. Yikes!
So after I pulled them off, I added an IBS flower (to cover up the mess!), which I’d colored on the edges with the same Copic pen. Lastly, I added one of the pearls to the side. Not sure I like it, but again, I have some bits of blue. <sigh> Will have to ensure I leave those pearls to dry much longer in future.
That’s it – took maybe 15 minutes.
