I recently purchased the Bird Crazy stamp set and dies. This card was my second attempt. (I can’t show you the first because what I made was a friend’s birthday card, and she stops by this site often! Maybe in a week or so I’ll post it.)
This was very simple. I stamped out the bird using black Archival Ink – because I wanted to watercolour this card.
Then I sprayed the area I was going to colour with plain water, then got playing with my watercolours. I tried each colour as I went so I wouldn’t end up with mud. Most of the time I just let the watercolour go wherever it wanted, but as you can see, I was specific about some areas.
I have used 300gsm watercolour paper in this instance. I’ve bought cheaper papers in the past, but have found they are total rubbish and not worth even a few dollars.
I realised at the last minute I hadn’t added a greeting. I laid down some stamps at the top, but they didn’t look right, so I added this Stampin’ Up! retired stamp. (It was chosen because it fitted beautifully, and was a little whimsical like the image.)
I am entering this card in the Just Us Girls Word Week “Birds” challenge.
