We’re now at Day 6 of the Holiday Card class. This is a fantastic class, and I’ve learned so much! (I honestly don’t want it to end!!)
The instructor used a specifically designed stamp for this technique, where the stamp already had all the lines and twists ready to emboss. Since I don’t have that stamp, and it takes a minimum of two weeks for supplies to arrive from the US (assuming they have it in stock!), I improvised.
You may seen my recent “rubber band technique” card (you can see it here) where I wrapped rubber bands around an acrylic block. Well, that’s what I did for this technique. I cut out a star using a die, then using Versamark ink and rubber bands, I ‘stamped’ out the lines to form the stain glass. I then embossed using white embossing powder. (Sorry, I originally left this latter part off the instructions.)
Then, I coloured each section using my new Tim Holtz Distress Pens, and spritzed with gold Perfect Pearls liquid.
I’m pretty happy with the results, but I will be getting that stamp – it will save a ton of time!

Cheryl, that is a very clever Idea! I would have never though of versa mark w/rubber bands. I too am in the Holiday workshop. Your idea is fantastic!! Thank you for this! Create on and Enjoy!
