Spring Birthday Card

This card was made for the Crafty Card Gallery Design Team challenge. This month we needed to make a Spring card.

Most items used on this card were already cut and/or in my stash. Many were prepared for other projects but never used for the original purpose.

The cardbase was made with a piece of Stampin’ Up Regal Rose cardstock that was cut and ready to go. The black background was cut on my Silhouette Cameo. (I believe it’s the Quatrefoil Pattern – Design #49890 – but don’t quote me on it!)

The label for the greeting was coloured with Spun Sugar Distress Ink while still in the die, then stamped with Inspired by Stamping image.  The flower is a Kaisercraft flower I’d dyed for another project (with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink I believe) but it didn’t properly match so I put it aside.

The leaves are one of the few things I made especially for this project. I ran it through a crimper for effect. I grabbed some silver stamens and added them over the leaves, letting them hang down naturally.  Last but not least I added some clear crystals randomly and a couple of sequins.

This really was a quick and easy no-stress card. Give it a try using things in your stash. It’s amazing what you can come up with!

Thanks for looking, and as always, if you want to comment, and the comment box isn’t showing, click the title of this post and it will magically appear!

  1. Lovely card Cheryl. Sorry I have been MIA on commenting on your blog. I’m in the throes of trying to get my cards done for the Guest Designer gig on STV – release is Thursday. Should be able to take a breath after that. I really love your color pallet here, and the black background die cut is so pretty. Don’t ya just love when you have stuff stashed and can just throw a card together. You did it perfectly here my dear~
