Sixtieth Birthday Card

I mentioned last week I would be away in Queensland for two weeks, spending one of those weeks with Ina from Little Bits of Craft.

By the time you are reading this, I will have not long (sadly) left Ina’s place, and will be on the train, on my way back to Brisbane to stay with my brother-in-law and his family for a few days before I fly home to Melbourne on June 20. But rather than leave you totally alone for the duration, I decided to add a card for you.

This card was made for a friend who has recently turned 60, and was a pretty easy card to make.

I made the white background using a Kaisercraft embossing folder, then also embossed the same folder using black cardstock. It is hard to see here, but I have also added a layer of gold cardstock under the black – to tie it in with the rest of the gold used on the card.

I then cut out a variety of stars using glitter paper and gold mirror cardstock, and scattered them around. I cut out the numbers also using matching glitter cardstock.

I layered them all up on black cardstock.  (FYI, she loved it!)

Thanks for looking, and as always, if you want to comment and the comment box isn’t showing, click the title of this post and it will magically appear! (I probably won’t be able to respond to comments until I am back home again.)

  2. Thanks so much for all your lovely comments everyone!

Therese, it was so wonderful meeting you (and Linda) at the craft expo, and I can’t express how much of a thrill it was. (I even had a bit of a fan girl moment!)
