I totally adore creating Shabby Chic and Vintage style cards.
I know it looks quite complicated, but this was a relatively easy card to make.
I began with a white cardstock base, plus an additional piece of white cardstock to go on the front (the topper).
The piece for the front was cut down a little smaller than the base. I then printed out a vintage digi sheet that I’ve had for years, and stuck it on the topper. Next I took a piece of tissue paper and cut it a little larger than the topper size. I rolled it into a ball to get some nice texture going, then rubbed a glue stick all over my digi print. (Not the tissue paper.)
Next I added the tissue paper, tucking the sides underneath the topper, and making sure I left some creases. This ages the card. (I learned this technique at Inspired by Stamping.)
After the tissue paper was glued down I added a ribbon all the way down the card, again, tucking it in underneath. I made a matching double-bow, but added that last. You can add it whenever it suits.
The greeting is from Gina K Designs – from the Various Verses set, and the stamp on the envelope is also from Gina K Designs, from the True Love set. The die-cut is from Spellbinders – Floral Ovals. I sponged the cut piece with Spun Sugar Distress ink. The flowers are from Inspired by Stamping. I twisted the wire stems around a thin pencil to get that curling effect.
I have entered this card into Scrapbook Boutique’s current challenge, which uses photo inspiration. I’ve also entered it into Inspired by Stamping’s Flower Challenge and Stamp TV’s Mix It Up Monday Shabby Chic challenge.

Thanks Lindsay. You do a great job of them too!
Thanks Marcelle! I always enjoy looking at your gorgeous cards too!
Very pretty Cheryl, love the tissue effect and those flowers
You do shabby chic so well. I really love your card. And, thanks for the tissue paper tip. It seems years ago I did that on a card as well, but then later added some darker colors to show some aging. Maybe I know more shabby chic then I thought. LOL At any rate, your card is super fantastic and love the soft colors and flowers.
Thanks Joyce. Flowers always add so much to cards, especially vintage and shabby chic cards.
These particular ones are from Inspired by Stamping. I have a ton of their beautiful flowers. (Actually, I have a ton of flowers!)
Thanks so much, Verna. Yes, you can add extra colour on top of the tissue paper to give it added ageing.
I didn’t do it on this card because I wanted to create a very soft look. But I have certainly done it on other cards.
Oh my, this is so so pretty, and yes it does look comnplicated but with such a pretty result well worth the effort. Thanks so much for sharing with us at Scrapbook Boutique!
That’s very pretty Cheryl, I also like the matching envelope :o) Good luck in the challenges!
