A friend recently lost her father, so I made a card for her.
I wanted the card to have a calm feeling to it, so used fairly muted colours.
The first thing I did was add some soft design paper to the cardbase. I then took a white topper and cut it as shown above. (You can cut at any angle you want.)
I used the Couture Creations “Heartfelt Sympathy” Hotfoil Stamp on the bottom corner piece, but it repeatedly didn’t foil properly.
I finally realised that because the card was already cut, it was picking up the edges and not allowing it to foil correctly. In the end I did it on a full piece of cardstock, ensuring I had the placement right, then cut last.
I added some glitter paper to the two edges of the white card topper, and added the diagonal cuts to the base.
Lastly I added a Cut and Emboss Feather and the foil I removed from it, and finished it off with some flowers.
Thanks for looking, and as always, if you want to comment and the comment box isn’t showing, click the title of this post and it will magically appear!
A gorgeous sympathy card and I am sure your friend found comfort from it too.
Simply beautiful Cheryl. The foiling looks sensational.
Thanks so much Verna and Ina!
