The current challenge at Double D is to use a sentiment or quote as the main feature of your card. I hope I have achieved that.
I started by cutting a background from the Kaisercraft Mermaid Tails paper pack (now obsolete) – using Spellbinders A2 Tranquil Moments die.
I then cut the main focal point using the same die but in the same cardstock as the base. (From my stash.) I stamped it with a greeting from Gina K Designs (obsolete) Birthday Greetings set, which I’ve had for many years, and use often.
Lastly I added some matching flowers.
At that point I thought I was done, but I had a large chunk of cardstock at the bottom, so decided to cut it off. Then…. I changed my mind and decided to add some soft mauve pearls I had in my stash. Unfortunately they’d been there for years, so I used some SU glue to add them. It spurted out everywhere, and this is what I was left with:
I was going to go back to my original idea of cutting the bottom off when a friend suggested I add a strip of glitter at the bottom. Using masking tape and some glue, that’s exactly what I did, and you can see the result at the top of the page.
To make everything tie in, I also added some touches of glitter on the flowers.
Just an FYI – the color is far from real life. It is actually a soft mauve, but it didn’t matter what I did, the colors would not come up correctly.
Thanks for looking, and as always, if you want to comment and the comment box isn’t showing, click the title of this post and it will magically appear!
This is so gorgeous! Great cover die used on it, wonderful colors and a wonderful way to showcase that sentiment which is as well awesome.
Thanks so much, Verna! I rarely use this beautiful die, but need to do so.
Happy accidents! End result is that it’s beautiful and I love it!! Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Double D ‘Sentiments & Quotes’ challenge! We hope you’ll come back often.
