Retro Card

Last year I made eleven sets of cards for Christmas gifts. (Maybe I already mentioned this?) I made them all in the last 2-3 weeks of December – because I made the decision to make them very late!!

I am determined not to leave it so late this year.

This card is my first of the multiple cards I will be making this year. (I made five of this card.)

I stamped the main image using Versmark, then heat embossed using white embossing powder. I prefer white over clear as I think it shows up better.

I then sponged over the embossed image. I isolated the “happy” from a greeting out of Bloom Happy stamp set, and lastly added the die. I stacked cardstock coloured with Wild Honey distress ink over black, leaving them slightly off to show the black. This made the die stand out more, but also tied in with the black ‘happy’ greeting.

I am adding this card to the STAMPlorations Theme and Sketch February challenge, as well as to the STAMPlorations Never-Ending Anything Goes challenge.

Inks used are:

Wild Honey Distress Ink

All the stamp products used on this card are from STAMPlorations, and they are:

Mixed Media Grunge Stamp Set
Bloom Happy Stamp Set

“Birthday” die is from CUTplorations
