Owl Birthday Card

It’s a dear friend’s birthday today, and I made a card that included one of her favourite things – owls!

I started off my sponging colour through a Stampin’ Up! stencil. I used two colours – Crisp Cantaloupe, and Summer Sun. The circle is also Crisp Cantaloupe, which I embossed using the large dots embossing folder.

The owl and greeting is from Gina K Designs. (I’ve had it for many years, and don’t know if it’s still available.)

I hand drew the branch, as I didn’t want the owl hanging in mid-air. The balloons, owl and branch were coloured with Copics, but I drew in the strings and they didn’t survive me cutting it all out.

Here is the inside:

The ironic thing about this, is my friend Marcelle, is the one who showed me a video to learn how to make pop up cards. (I’ve added it below.)

Thanks for looking, and as always, if you want to comment, and the comment box isn’t showing, click the title of this post and it will magically appear!

  1. I love that little owl image but the fact that the card is a pop up really made me smile. So cool!

  2. Thanks Verna. It’s a sweet little owl. The pop up is so easy, but makes a huge difference!
