Mystical Creature Shaker Card

This week’s Just Us Girls Challenge is Die Cuts, which worked in perfectly with a card I have made, which will probably be for my youngest granddaughter. It also fits with the AAA Cards 3rd Birthday challenge.

As it happens, I am going to the Brisbane Craft Show on Friday (and Saturday), and they are also holding a challenge. I’ve entered this card into their ‘die cut’ challenge. The theme was mythical creatures. Last year I was lucky enough to get one of my cards into the finals, so fingers crossed for this year.

The background paper is from Kaisercraft “Magic Happens”, and I thought it fit perfectly. I stamped out my scene using Lawn Fawn Critters Ever After stamp set, and coloured with Copics.  I then made a shaker using a postage die as the top layer.  (If you don’t know how to make a shaker, search YouTube. There are tons of tutorials there.) I stamped “Make a Wish” from the same stamp set, and added some ribbon from my stash.

Lastly I added the shaker to the card.

UPDATE: I’ve had an email to say my card is a finalist for the Brisbane Show! Fingers crossed for a place.

Thanks for looking, and as always, if you want to comment and the comment box isn’t showing, click the title of this post and it will magically appear!

I love this shaker card – the background paper is just perfect. Cute little unicorn and in such lovely soft colours. Nice shaker bits too. Thanks for joining in this week at Just Us Girls. Always nice to see your work.
