Tomorrow is Mother’s Day in Australia.
Sadly, my own mother died eight years ago, but my mother-in-law is still with us. She is in a nursing home in country Victoria, due to dementia, so hubby will make the two and a half hour (each way) trip to visit her. He regularly visits, but always ensure he goes on Mother’s Day.
A few days ago I received the Stampin’ Up! background stamp called Something Lacy. It is very intricate to look at, but stamps well with every impression. I’ve been playing around since I received the stamp, and have already made at least five cards.
I’ve used a similar ‘recipe’ for each card: white panel matted onto black, then matted onto a matching coloured card base.
The greeting used on this card is “Floral Love” from Inspired by Stamping. My original intention was to stamp the greeting on the far right, as you can see here, but the layered section in the middle was to be straight across. As I laid it out to look at it, I bumped it, and above is how it landed. I much prefer it this way – it gives a little more interest.
The flower embellishment is also from Stampin’ Up! and is from the Stippled Blossom set.
I’d already cut my middle section, so had to cover up so the short-fall couldn’t be noticed. The Stippled Blossom flower was always going on the card, but I had to ensure it went right to the edge so you couldn’t see there was no cardstock there!
Thanks for looking, and as always, if you want to comment, and the comment box isn’t showing, click the title of this post and it will magically appear!
I am adding this card to the Inspired by Stamping customer gallery contest.
That is a beautiful card and I am sure it will be so appreciated.
Thanks Verna! My m-i-l enjoys receiving cards.
Beautiful colors, love the flower!
