Inlaid Die Baby Card

It’s quite a while since I made in inlaid die card, but that’s the twist for the Mix It Up Challenge this month, and so that’s what I’ve made. 🙂

I sponged the background using Distress Oxide Inks, and to be honest, I wasn’t too fussy about it. I simply sponged blue at the top for the sky, and green at the bottom for the ground. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I then got out my cloud dies (Memory Box I think), as well as this stork die I have had for a while, and laid them on the sponged background. I ran them all through my Big Shot Plus, and removed the pieces.

Then I ran them through again, this time using white cardstock. I placed the background piece onto a cardbase, and glued it down, then added the white clouds using wet glue.

For the stork, I coloured the stork itself using Distress Oxide Ink, making sure not to colour the baby bundle. In hindsight, I should have used washi tape to stop getting stray bits of yellow. I’ll definitely do that next time.

I coloured the little heart before adding it to the card.

Last of all I stamped the greeting, which is from an obsolete Stampin’ Up! set.

Don’t forget to add your entry to the Mix It Up Challenge Blog. The challenge runs all month!
