Today I’m highlighting a Full Pleat Card I made using Couture Creations Highland Christmas Collection design paper.
If you’ve been with me for a while, you may have seen other celebration cards I’ve made using this technique. I’ve made both birthday and Mother’s Day cards using the technique – it is very versatile.
These cards are quite simple, even though they look complicated. There’s a bit of scoring, and some cutting (not much), but once you try it, you’ll wonder why you didn’t make these before.
I’ve used foiling for my greeting, but you can also use a stamped greeting. I’ve done that too.
One thing you must ensure, is that bottom edge lines up, as shown above. If that doesn’t line up, the whole thing will be skewed. (Cutting incorrectly is usually the cause of that.)
Here are the measurements required to make this card:
Cut paper 3″ x 11″
Score (on the long side) at:
1 1/2″ – 2″ – 3″ – 3 1/2″ – 4 1/2″ – 5″ – 6″ – 6 1/2″ – 7 1/2″ – 8″ – 9″ – 9 1/2″
Mark each short side at 1 1/2″ and mark the long side at 5″ and 6″ (one side only)
Cut from 1 1/2″ to 6″ and 1 1/2″ to 5″
Concertina fold from each end, meeting in the centre.
If you prefer to watch how it’s done, I have made a video. (See below.)
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the video.
