Very quick card today!
This card was made for the oncology ward at the local hospital. You may recall I make cards for patients to give to friends who have helped them out during their cancer treatment.
I took a white cardbase and folded it in half, then took another piece of the same card. This one was slightly smaller than half the size of the base.
Next I took a 6″x6″ sheet of patterned paper from Kaisercraft and cut it into three equal strips. I glued one of those strips to the bottom of the layer card. You can use any pattern that suits, but I used Kaisercraft Lilac Avenue Collection.
The stamp is Simon Says Stamps – Absolutely Delightful. I stamped it using Stampin’ Up! Orchid Opulence.
I found a scrap of ribbon that matched the colours in the patterned paper, and added it across the top of the DP, tucking the ends underneath the layer, and tying a knot on one side. I then added the layer onto the card base. Last but not least, I added three matching pearls. (Also from Kaisercraft.)

Oh, Cheryl, this is lovely. I want to say “pretty in purple” LOL I can’t resist the play on words, or color, in this instance. I am surprised that is pp, I truly thought at first glance that you randomly stamped an image across the paper, with different colors. Wow, huh? It’s just gorgeous pp! Love your description! I must admit I am very impressed that you distribute homemade cards to the Oncology dept at the hospital. That’s so generous, and endearing of you. I am proud to call you “friend”, you are a real treasure…You Go Girl!
OOPS, forgot to mention thanks, for the tip about cutting the 6 X 6 paper in thirds to use on several cards. I went right into my craft area and did that to a page that I really love, but didn’t know what I wanted to do with it. Now, I have a “new” idea, and will get three cards from it! I learn something every time I stop by. I try not to miss a posting. TFS!
