This card was made for an Australian friend for her birthday.
The focal image is Gina K Designs Dogwood and Butterfly set, and the sentiment is from Gina K Designs Birthday Greetings set. The colouring was done with Copics – my third time using Copics, and the black frame was made on the Silhouette. It is Design #41360, for those who will want to know. It is called “Fancy Flourish Frame with Mat”. I ‘ungrouped’ it because I didn’t want the mat.
I stamped an extra set of flowers and coloured the same as the main focal image. Then coloured and carefully cut out the larger flower, and added it with pop-dots. Then added Stardust Stickles to further highlight that flower.
The background was handmade also – the branch is also from the Dogwood and Butterfly set. I stamped it randomly, then sponged around the edges, then lightly in the middle of the card (as it would mostly be covered). Then I used Stickles Stardust to place tiny dots of sparkle on the ‘flowers’ of each branch.
I didn’t have any matching pearls, so used some white pearls, and coloured them with the same Copics used for the flowers.
Once finished, the topper was added to white cardstock.
A little time consuming, but a relatively easy card to make.

This is absolutely beautiful, Cheryl. I l o v e the background you created. It sets off the focal image so perfectly. You know I live in dog wood country, and have a special love for them. What a gorgeous card. The Silhouette cut is lovely. Is it an actual Silhouette file, or did you get it from somewhere else? I really like it.
Gorgeous card, beautiful colors. I also have the Distress Markers, then went into some Copics, just like you, and love them. Totally different and fun medium. Hey, I know where you can get some charts, free downloads…….for your Copics. Easier than wasting the ink trying out the colors, that never exactly match the end caps. Love this card, kudos!
Cheryl, this is beautiful. I love the popped flower with glitter. Awesome!

Anna, thank you. And thanks for the info about the charts. That would be wonderful, and very much appreciated.
Gabrielle, thank you. The frame is an actual Silhouette cut-file. I’d intended to give the details, but totally forgot. A good friend (Anna!) gave me the hint of printing out invoices so that the ID can be easily found. So here it is: Design #41360. It is called “Fancy Flourish Frame with Mat”. I ‘ungrouped’ it, because I didn’t want the mat.
I hope this helps.
Susan, thank you. I love the way popping up a flower or other item really highlights one part of the card. It seems to give so much depth for so little extra effort.
