I like to make projects that are different to the norm, and when I saw an envelope card online, I had to try it.
I began by making an envelope using Le Petit Jardin design paper and my envelope maker. I made my envelope 8″ x 6″ – I would not make this size again. The reason for this is I didn’t allow for the flap, which needs to be left open, so the actual size of the finished project is much larger – 8″ x 10 1/4″.
So, if you try this, do make your envelope smaller.
Next, using the largest size, I used the Cut, Foil and Emboss Modern Essentials Decorative Nesting Lacy Frames. The purple foil matched the paper beautifully.
I then foiled the Le Petit Jardin All My Love hotfoil stamp using the same foil. It was then cut out using a circle die.
I added some gauze (cheesecloth) between the layers, ensuring some of it was showing. I added it to the flap, pushing it down low enough that some of it was covered.
Next I added flowers from my stash – lots of them, all in the same colour theme as the paper. I tucked some gauze in along the top of the flowers, and also added a matching bow to the bottom of the flower cluster.
You might notice my flowers are all lined up – I get quite OCD with things like this, (I really do – just ask my crafting friends!), but you don’t need to do that.
So now one side looked lovely, but the other side looked rather empty. I took out my Le Petit Jardin Ephemera pack, and found something that worked for this project, and placed it on the right side of the envelope, tucked inside just a little.
Then I added some continuous pearls around the edge on the right hand side. Lastly I added some small flowers at the peak of the flap, and it was done.
