It’s colour week at Just Us Girls, and I was sure I couldn’t use this colour combo. That is until I found some beautiful vintage style dsp I had in a 6×6 paper pack that is many years old. The background was olive, with rust coloured flowers (and a few gold ones).
It so happens I’d recently seen a video on the diamond fold, and wanted to give it a try. The fold itself is very easy, but adding all the fiddly bits of paper, not so much.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s very impressive, but it would have to be for someone very special for me to make the effort again.
Anyway, back to the card. I decided a lovely gold flower would finish this off, so I pulled out my Stippled Blossoms (SU) and stamped it using Summer Sun (SU retired ink) for the base and Delicata Gold ink for the details. I also used gold around the edges of the greeting, which is from Inspired by Stamping.
For the sides, I added a greeting on the right (also from IBS), and added some small Stippled Blossoms flowers to the left side front.
For those interested, here is the video. (Uses a diagonal plate.)
There is a longer version if you’d prefer that one. (No diagonal plate used.)

What a beautiful fancy fold card. I guess I am not into doing many of the fancier folds myself. I usually have to work only with quick and easy things and this looks to be quite intricate and more complicated but I sure do love the look of it. So I applaud you on a job well done on this. It is wonderful!
Thanks so much, Verna! I also love quick and easy, but I like to give some of these fancy folds a go, even if it’s just the once.
I doubt I’ll ever make one of these again because it was so incredibly fiddly cutting up all the papers to decorate it!!
It’s gorgeous Cheryl!

Thanks so much, Karen!
Your card is awesome, Cheryl. I love the patterned papers you used, and that flower is just beautiful! Using the Delicata Gold to stamp a portion of it is genius, I’m going to try that. Great take on the challenge, thanks so much for playing along with us this week over at Just Us Girls. I’m sure it must have been fiddly….all those shapes.

Thanks so much Judy! Yes, it was incredibly fiddly. I spent well over an hour on this card.
Don’t get me wrong, I love unusual cards, but it was somewhat frustrating.
