The challenge over at the Mix It Up Challenge Blog this month is Anything Goes with an optional twist of paper piecing. That is, fussy cutting something on your card to enhance it.
I have only had my Stampin’ Up! set “Beautiful You” for a couple of weeks, but thought it was perfect for this challenge.
I started off with a white base, then cut a strip of paper from the Kaisercraft Wildflowers paper pack and added it to the left hand side. Using the same pack, I chose a matching colour, but it was basically watercolour over the page. I wanted to put a scallop oval behind the focal image, and thought this was perfect. Even better that it matched the paper. (So much easier when you use papers from the same paper pack!)
Using a plain oval, I stamped the image in Archival Ink (which is my main go-to for stamping images) then stamped it again on the watercolour-type paper. I cut out the dress and hat as one piece and glued them on.
Lastly I stamped the greeting, which is from the same set, and added a few sequins.
Don’t forget to add your entry to the Mix It Up Challenge Blog. The challenge runs all month!
