It is over-the-top hot here in Australia right now (38 celsius today) so I retreated to my craft room where it’s relatively cool. (Air conditioning is going full-blast!)
I’ve been working on Valentine’s Day cards, and when I saw the CAS challenge at STAMPlorations, which has an optional colour twist of silver or gray, I decided to make a card to enter.
I’m also entering this card in the STAMPlorations Never-ending Anything Goes Challenge.
I started the card by stamping two elements from the STAMPlorations stamp set Scribbly Splattery Grunge , which I got as part of my Stamp Club order in November. I used gray, and also red as a traditional Valentine’s colour. I then cut out two hearts – a large on in yellow, and a small one in red. I distressed the edges of the large heart before gluing it down.
Once stuck down, I added some glossy accents to the red heart to give it some dimension.
Last but not least, I cut out the word “love” in matching red, which comes from a Spellbinders die set. It actually says “With Love” but I did some surgery on the die cut to suit what I wanted.
That’s it. Very simple.
Thanks for looking, and as always, if you want to comment, and the comment box isn’t showing, click the title of this post and it will magically appear!
Great background for the tattered yellow heart. Awesome design.
Thanks so much, Verna!
Wow Cheryl what a fabulous cas card you made here. Love the touch of grunge from that stamp set. You can do so much with it. Great idea to cut the die to suit too.
Thanks so much, Ina. I do love that stamp set, but haven’t had much of a chance to play with it yet.
Lovely card here and so CAS! Thank you so much for playing along with us at STAMPlorations this month! 🙂
