Yesterday I bought a new Spellbinders Die Set – Spellbinders Nestabilities Decorative Elements Floral Ovals Die Templates.
I’ve seen friend’s cards made with those dies, and have loved them, so when I had the opportunity to buy them, I did. StampTV had a CAS (clean and Simple) card challenge running, so I used these dies to make a card, and entered. I have also entered this card in the Outlawz CAS challenge.
Here’s how I made the card:
I started with plain white card stock and cut out the second largest sized die. While the die was still in place, I sponged the cardstock with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad, Spun Sugar, including around the edges. Then I removed the cardstock from the die. I also cut out the smallest die, and sponged the flower center, again using Spun Sugar.
I embossed a piece of white cardstock with a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder – I think it’s called Tiny Hearts, but you could use any suitable Embossing Folder.
Next I took a piece of ribbon and ran it across the front of the embossed card, and used double-sided tape to hold it down at the back. Next I added the embossed card and ribbon to the main cardstock, using wet glue.
I then stamped the die-cut shape with a stamp from StampTV’s One in a Million stamp set, (using Jet Black Stazon) then added the smallest die-cut below the stamp. Using foam pads, I attached the main die-cut to the front of the card.
That’s it – the card was finished!
You could make a variation of this same card by changing the die, the distress ink, the stamps and ribbon. This was an incredibly quick and easy card to make, and would be very suited to “production line” cards if needed.
This is really beautiful. Blessing hugs, Teresa
