Card with Aperture

Before I tell you about today’s card, I would like to quickly let you know my latest western romance novella has been released. (You can see an image to the left of this blog.)

It is called The Veterinarian’s Sweetheart, and is the second book in the Callahan Brothers series.

Now onto the card…

This card was very simple to make. I started with a card topper that was slightly smaller than the base. I then cut an aperture in the centre, and lightly traced around it on the base.

Using Distress Oxide Inks, I sponged the base, using two different colours from the same colour family going slightly larger than the traced area, then spritz’d.

I stamped the sentiment (from a SU retired set), making sure I left enough room for the flower, which is from Altenew Beautiful Day set.  I used only the outline stamp, then coloured with Distress Oxide Inks. I use stickles on the inside of the flower, then added three sequins, and that was it!

*I used foam tape on the topper to give some dimension between the topper and base.

Thanks for looking, and as always, if you want to comment and the comment box isn’t showing, click the title of this post and it will magically appear!

  1. Thanks so much Verna! I was worried it was too much yellow, but my friends all said it was perfectly fine. 🙂
