Card in a Box

IMG_1262

A dear friend recently showed me a card in a box she’d made, and I loved it! But I was convinced it was too complicated for me to make, so she sent me a link to the video where she’d learned to make it.

Here’s the video:

Follow the link on the YouTube channel and you’ll be able to download a pdf sheet that has the dimensions.

At first it seems very complicated, but it’s really not. More than anything it’s fiddly, particularly the first time around. I found it easier to play part of the video, stop it, then do the cutting and scoring. Then play some more, stop the video, do the next step, and play again.  Once you’ve made one, I’m sure it will be much easier.

Here’s a close-up of my flower and butterflies:

The DP is from Gina K Designs, the flower stamp from the Daisies stamp set at Inspired by Stamping, and the butterflies were made using a Martha Stewart punch.

The greeting is from the Just Because stamp set, also from Inspired by Stamping.

Thanks for looking, and as always, if you want to comment, and the comment box isn’t showing, click the title of this post and it will magically appear!

  1. I love your Card in a Box. Not sure I would attempt it even if it is not too difficult. It looks to be time consuming to me. I only have a short while to complete my card creations so most likely won’t try it. But thanks for the video link.

  2. Thanks Verna. I think once you’ve done the first one, it wouldn’t be so time consuming. These would be perfect for my mother-in-law, because we can just sit them on her cupboard in the nursing home.

She has dementia, but she loves seeing pretty things around her.
