I had some leftover scraps of Le Petit Jardin design paper, but it wasn’t quite wide enough to make a card. I also had the negative piece of foil from the Modern Essentials Decorative Nesting Lacy Frames.
I started by foiling my leftover piece of design paper.
I added the thin shim to my Go Press and Foil Machine and let it heat up. I had a piece of leftover foil from another card I’d made using the middle sized Modern Essentials Decorative Nesting Lacy Frames.
Once the machine was hot (really hot!) I added my design paper and my negative piece of foil, then added a shim and ran it through my die-cutting machine.
At this point the negative foil should be completely adhered to the design paper. If not, go through the process again. (I can’t recall ever having to do this.)
Once adhered, I added the design paper with the adhered foil to the cardbase. It wasn’t quite wide enough, which I already knew, so I took a scrap of complementary cardstock and cut a strip to fit down the righthand side, effectively making it the correct width.
I made sure I had enough scrap left to foil a greeting onto it, ensuring the small side strip didn’t look out of place.
The hotfoil stamp used was Sweet Birthday Wishes. I used the textured side of the cardstock, which doesn’t always foil first time. To eliminate this issue, I add a shim when using textured cardstock.
This was then cut to add fishtales to each end of the greeting. I popped it up with foam tape, and added to the card. Lastly I added some flowers from my stash, and that was it done.
