I was extremely lucky to have been able to attend not one, but two Dina Wakley workshops that were recently held in Melbourne (Australia), where I live. Like many of you, I was already a big fan, now I am even more so, and have been madly buying up all things Dina Wakely ever since. (I did have some, but not much.)
Just a few days ago I managed to (finally) get hold of the Dina Wakley Media Stamp & Stencil Set-Scribbly Holiday Birdies.
I decided to have a play with it, and this is what I came up with.
The background was done mixed media style, using gesso to ‘prime’ the cardstock before painting on it. I added some music washi tape – as a substitute branch – then stamped the greeting.
I also stamped the holly (which is also in the stamp set) on green cardstock, then fussy cut it.
I am pretty happy with the results, especially considering this was my first attempt.
