Hi everyone, it’s Cheryl here, and today I’m showing you a simple Christmas card.
You could make a number of these cards using different double-sided paper and cardstock, and get totally different results.
I used two different patterned papers here, but you could do it with three, depending on what you have available. I started by heating up my Go Press and Foil machine. I used the same red cardstock on the main piece that holds the greeting, as I did for the card base. When the machine was ready, I foiled it with Gold Foil Iridescent Shavings Pattern heat activated foil.
I ran it through my Go Power and Emboss machine, and it came out beautifully.
*Note: I used the Cut, Foil and Emboss Modern Essentials Decorative Nesting Lacy Frames (CO726465) which is no longer available. If you’re lucky enough to have this set, great. If not, replace it with anything that’s suitable. Even a circle die would work. I just love the added touch of the foiling.
Next, using The Gift of Giving double-sided patterned paper, cut a piece slightly smaller than the card base to give a nice border. Now you are going to cut two tags. Here is where you can save on your patterned paper if you are getting low. I used two different papers – you can cut two of the same paper using the two different sides or use two totally different papers. I used the flip side of my base for one of my tags.
Mine are 2″ x 5 1/2″ but you can make them whatever size you like. To make the flag part at the bottom, I flipped them over and found the centre, then ruled a line from the centre to each corner and cut on those lines. (I cannot cut straight to save myself!)
The depth is about 1 1/4″
I added the tags using double-sided foam tape to give them some depth, then wrapped some gold thread around the top and tied a bow. I wanted to tie in the gold foiling I’d done. Next I added them to the card.
Last of all I added my foiled piece, then using double-sided foam tape again, added the greeting which is from The Gift of Giving Diecut Sentiment Set. When adding these to the card, you will need to use double depth for the right hand side of the topper, otherwise it will be lopsided because of the foam tape under the tags.

Beautiful Christmas design.
Thanks so much, Verna. You could make a ton of these using different papers and ephemera, and have a heap of unique cards. They don’t take long to make either.
