Awesome Birthday Wishes Card

Hubby’s birthday is coming up, and like other birthdays in my family, I usually make at least three cards for each birthday person. I’m sure this card will be nabbed by someone to use.

This is a very simple card, but I think it’s a great masculine card. Before I did anything else, I turned on my Go Press and Foil machine, so it would be hot when I was ready to use it.

I began with a black card base, which I scored using my Couture Creations scoring board. ( FYI, I always like to pull a colour out of the design paper I’m using, or failing that, something else on the card.)

Using my Couture Creations Mini Guillotine, I cut a slightly smaller piece of design paper from the Gentleman’s Emporium Collection, to allow a slight border around all edges. I then glued that down.

I cut out the Birthday Wishes die, using black cardstock. It was now time for the Go Press and Foil machine.

Using Driftwood heat activated foil, I cut, foil and embossed the following:

1) The word “Awesome” from the new Delightful Sentiments Cut, Foil and Emboss dies (available August 2019). I cut this on white cardstock.

2) The largest of the Nesting Crystal Set from the new Framework Cut, Foil and Emboss dies (available September 2019). I cut this on black cardstock.

The latter I glued down first, then added then added “Awesome” over the top. Lastly I added the Birthday Wishes mini die, again in black cardstock.

As you can see, it was quite simple, but very effective. I hope you give it a try.

  1. That is a beautiful birthday design and the foil n press look is gorgeous with it. I should do more foiling myself soon. I have the supplies just not the incentive to get all the goodies out to use it. Some days my ambition gets depleted in a hurry. LOL

  2. You really should, Verna! It’s so much fun, and gives cards that WOW factor!

When I get my Go Press & Foil machine out, I plan to make several cards. That makes it more worthwhile.
