Couture Creations Design Team Audition 2018

Hey Crafters,

Today I am auditioning for the Couture Creations Design Team.

If you’re a regular here, you know how much I love my Go Press and Foil Machine. Therefore I have centered my audition around that product.

Here are my projects:

The first project is a Mother’s Day card.  I’ve used lots of pretty ribbon on this one, as well as the “Special Mum” Hotfoil Stamp, and Go Press and Foil heat activated foil.

The second one is a Get Well card.

The background was made using Kaisercraft “Roses” embossing folder, and Go Press and Foil heat activated foil (iridescent). The greeting uses “Pink” Go Press and Foil heat activated foil, and I used the “Get Well” Hotfoil Stamp.

The next project is a step-by-step tutorial, and is a vintage style birthday card. It uses the “Sweet Birthday Wishes” Hotfoil Stamp, and the Go Press and Foil Red (Mirror Finished) heat activated foil.

I started off by choosing my papers and cutting to size, as well as organising my cardbase and topper. (Design paper is Rose Avenue by Kaisercraft.)

I distressed the design paper and chose some flowers as well as the hotfoil stamp I was going to use. (Sweet Birthday Wishes hotfoil stamp.)

Heated the hotfoil stamp in the Go Press and Foil then added the foil and paper.

Couldn’t decide whether to use gold or red foil, but went with red in the end. Made one of each – the gold won’t go to waste, I’ll use it on another project. I also fussy cut around the greeting.

Next I used foam tape on the top layer for dimension. At this point I pulled out some ribbon, cut a butterfly, and also cut a small piece of cheesecloth. I wasn’t entirely sure where I was going with it at this point.

Distressed layers finally adhered to the cardbase.

Next the cheesecloth was added on the bottom of the card, and foam tape added to the greeting.

Greeting added, and two red flowers adhered with a glue gun.

Now it’s decision time. Do I add those little rosebuds? Add a ribbon and another red flower? Or go for the butterfly?

I finally decided to add the butterfly, but it wasn’t enough on it’s own, so I added another matching flower. Lastly, I added the topper to the cardbase using more foam tape.

And that was my card done.
