Teenage Birthday Card

I don’t know about you, but I find it incredibly difficult to make cards for teenagers. Girls and boys are equally difficult for me.

My eldest granddaughter turned seventeen while we were away, and I really struggled to make her a card. Above is what I came up with.

I felt it was adult enough to say she had grown up, but not overly so. As I’ve said before, I love the foiling, and felt this gave the card a touch of elegance.

Okay, so I began with a yellow card base. I used dsp from Kaisercraft Mermaid Tales – now defunct design – which has touches of yellow, hence the base.

I found some lovely lace in my stash and added that to the bottom. It was already threaded with ribbon, and I pulled out a little more for the bow.

The hotfoil stamp die you see here is from Poppy Crafts. I foiled it onto some matching paper from the same dsp pack.

Last of all, I added some lovely diamond embellishments I found in a two dollar store.

And that was it. Very simple, but my granddaughter loved it, which is what matters most. 🙂
