Christmas Bauble Shaker Card

This card was quite simple, albeit a little fiddly.

I started by cutting my card topper. I then took the outer die for this beautiful bauble, and cut out the centre of the topper. After that was done, I embossed the topper with a Christmas embossing folder. (The one I used is called Merry Christmas by Craft Concepts. I’ve had it for many years, so not sure it’s still available.)

Next I added the topper to my card base using foam tape. I needed to lift it up as I would be inlaying my finished shaker into that.

I cut out two pieces of acetate using the outer die again, then cut the full die (with the centre/decorative part) using gold cardstock. I added one sheet of the cut acetate to the back of the gold cardstock, added foam tape all around, then added some pearlescent sequins, some frosty glitter and a small amount of gold glitter.

Lastly I added the second piece of acetate to the piece with all the shaker elements.

Once I was happy all the bits and pieces were completely sealed, I added some multi medium to the base of the card – in the gap left for the shaker to go – and added the die.

As I said, easy, but fiddly.

I am adding this card to the Just Us Girls Photo Week Challenge.

I’ve been making a lot of Christmas cards lately (mostly for sale to the flower shop) and will try to get lots up on the blog. It’s been quite busy for me lately, between making heaps of cards, and trying to write the next book in my series.
