Pocket Birthday Card

I told you last time I’d ordered the remaining colours of the Distress Oxide inks. They arrived just a few days ago.  I’m pretty happy with my haul. 🙂

So I decided I had to play with my new toys.

This was pretty easy. I stamped the pocket and flowers (STAMPlorations Pocket Blooms), then coloured the flowers using Distress Oxide inks.  I sponged Wilted Violet Distress Oxide onto a scrap of paper, then dripped water onto it, then dried. I lightly added Worn Lipstick over the top of the Wilted Violet, then cut out using CUTplorations XOXO die.

I ran it through my Xyron, then after putting it in place, I decided the card was too empty, so stamped ‘happy’ from a stamp I got in a magazine, but wasn’t at all happy with it. (No pun intended.) So I stamped using another stamp, on a scrap of paper, cut it out then sponged around the edges.

I coloured yet another scrap with Worn Lipstick and cut out the Birthday die. (CUTplorations), and ran it through my Xyron. Unfortunately I had little bits of glue that I couldn’t get rid of, so sprinkled both dies with glitter to hide the glue.

Lastly I added some Worn Lipstick to my craft mat and sprayed with water, then splattered on the card, then sponged the edges before adding to a card base.

All done.

I am adding this card to the following challenges:
