Since just before Christmas, I’ve had between ten and thirteen people staying at my house. To say it’s been hectic would be an understatement. This afternoon there are only three of us (but that is changing again over the next few days).
Finally I got to sit down in my craft room for more than just a few minutes, so I decided to work in my journal. I have not done anything in my journal for some months, so it was a nice change.
I have a group of very special friends, who also happen to be crafters, and being the end of 2016, we’ve been discussing how important we are to each other, so it seemed to follow that I came up with this same theme for my journal pages.
For this page I used sponges to create a background with pink and gold acrylic paints, dabbing the sponges to get a splotchy effect. I then used the same gold to make a border around the edges (using my fingers).
The stencil used is STAMPlorations Happy Flower stencil. (I’ve used it on each page.) I used crackle texture paste mixed with black acrylic paint for the flowers. (You can also use mica powder to colour texture paste and crackle texture paste.)
The words were printed off the computer.
I am entering this in the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Challenge, as well as their Never-ending Anything Goes Challenge.
