As I mentioned in my last post, I recently took a couple of mixed media classes just before my foot surgery.
I’m still hobbling around, and still not allowed to do a lot, so after seeing an online mixed media class (on Craftsy) I decided to take it as well. And I’m so glad I did. Shari Carroll was the instructor, and I had got to say this is probably the best online class I’ve ever taken, and I’ve taken quite a few.
The class was called Lovely Layered Cards from Top to Bottom, with Shari Carroll.
Today I’ve decided to show you one of the cards I made. This is probably my most favourite, and was quite easy to make.
You can use up scraps to make this card. Here you can see the card after I’ve added the strips of dsp, and then added texture paste through a stencil. (Sorry, I forgot to photograph before adding the texture paste.)
I didn’t have an actual stencil with circles, so I used a negative from sequins, which you can buy at craft stores.
Here is the finished card – I added a handmade flower, some gold twine, and a tiny tag. The greeting is ‘Creative Tags’ from Inspired by Stamping, and I used Martha Stewart Crafts Scalloped Tag Punch to cut it out.
It’s a very simple card, but I’m really happy with the result.
