Vintage Style Card

You may be aware that I love to make Vintage cards. Inspired by Stamping currently have a challenge to make a vintage card.  Here is my effort:

I began this card with a digital vintage background, which I glued to the card topper.

Then I grabbed some Graphic 45 images I had leftover in my stash. Alongside the image, I stamped a vintage border from Gina K Designs “Vintage Borders” stamp set.  I used Vintage Photo distress ink, but stamped it off once before adding to the card.

I then cut a piece of burlap to add to the bottom of the topper, using double-sided tape.  I added a feather which I’d bought from a $2 type shop, then added a vintage colored brad (from Kaisercraft). On the other side I added some crimson and gold netting, again using double-sided tape to hold it down.

I’ve always got heaps of flowers in my stash – these ones came from Kaisercraft. I started with just the dark red, but didn’t like it, so added a variety of colors instead. I punched a small hole in the card, and threaded the stem through the hole, securing on the back with tape.

I then clipped the edges of the netting to make it look old, rather than have a totally straight line across. After all, Vintage is meant to be old looking!

To complete the vintage look, I added a Metal Bookplate – a recent purchase from Kaisercraft. The greeting behind it is from Gina K Designs “Simple Flowers” stamp set.  I stamped it on some leftover background paper, to tie it all in together.

Last, but not least, because I felt the sides looked a little bare, I added some back swirl pearls.  I think they completed the card very nicely!

Thanks for looking, and as always, if you want to comment, and the comment box isn’t showing, click the title of this post and it will magically appear!
