As you may realise by now, I love making vintage style cards.
The one above is ear-marked for the hospital I make cards for, and I wanted this one to be fairly basic.
The stamp is Kaisercraft, and one of my favourite vintage stamps.
I began with white cardstock, folded in half, and stamped the image in black. I then ran a strip of lace across the front, securing it with double-sided tape.
Next I added a piece of salmon ribbon-like tape (which had adhesive on the back of it), and ran that across the front, this time covering the very top of the lace. Make sure you trim each of these to the edges of the folded cardstock.
The image on the left is what I ended up with. (Click to enlarge for a better view.) Don’t get me wrong, this is very pretty, but I wanted to crank it up a notch.
So I simply added a string of pearls from Kaisercraft, which are a very pale pink colour.
I love how adding something incredibly simple can give totally different results. The image at the top of this page is the finished card.
