A very special friend recently did something for me that could potentially be life-changing in a career sense. So I wanted to say thanks.
Sometimes cards say more than I can say with words, so I made her a card.
I began by lightly sponging white cardstock with Spun Sugar distress ink. Also from white cardstock, I cut out Spellbinders Heart Circles die set. Leaving the die in place, I used Spun Sugar Distress ink to color the entire inner circle.
Next I cut out three flowers using patterned paper. I cut two large and one small flower, and added a pearl to the center of each. (Different sized pearls for the different sized flowers.) I used Marianne Dies in this instance, but you could use Spellbinders Blossoms dies or Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms – use whatever you have available.
I then cut some leaves from the Spellbinders Foliage die set, and also from Tim Holtz Christmas Greenery die. (That’s the thin leaves at the right hand bottom.)
In the center of the card, near the top of the circle, I stamped a greeting using a Stampin’ Up stamp. Then down the bottom, I cut a small circle using a Spellbinders Scalloped Circles die set. Again using Spun Sugar, I distressed the center of the circle, then stamped it with a ‘true friend’ stamp, which I believe is a Kaisercraft stamp.
I finished the card off with three matching pearls (to the flower centers) which I added to the top right hand corner to balance the card.
